Green Deal: funding opportunities for European research
The Green Deal or European Green Pact is the flagship strategy of the new European Commission which aims to:
1 / Make Europe the first climate neutral continent by 2050,
2 / Transform the European Union into a just and prosperous society, with a modern and competitive economy, efficient in the use of resources :
It will mobilize public investment, especially in R&I, and help unlock private funds through EU financial tools.
As of this year, nearly 1 billion euros will be devoted to a call for "Green
Deal ”as part of the R&I program, Horizon 2020.
The call will support impact-oriented transdisciplinary projects, allowing the testing of new approaches, the development of ideas in pilot applications, demonstrations and innovative products.
Projects will also have to experiment with new ways of involving civil society and foster citizen participation.
