Résumé : | There is a growing body of evidence suggesting that the current global food system is inadequate to meet the food and nutritional needs of the current world population without compromising future well-being. Recent debates emphasize on a food system that provides food security and nutrition in a productive, inclusive, climate-smart, nutrition-sensitive, and business-friendly way. It is argued that such a food system will be key to achieving multiple Sustainable Development Goals. The commitment to shaping a more sustainable, inclusive, and equitable food system requires the development of adequate metrics, indicators, and indices to better understand the impact of food systems on land, water, air, and biological ecosystems. In this chapter we outline the indicators and indices which can be used to identify and quantify ecosystem services in sustainable food systems options. In identifying the indicators, we strictly followed the Common International Classification of Ecosystem Services to ensure consistency and comparability. |
