Résumé : | Relay cropping is a promising crop association that has been recently introduced to Northern France. It consists of implementing a summer crop on an already existing winter crop where their life cycle overlaps for a period of time before the winter crop harvest. Lack of suitable Agroequipement and machinery traffic are a major constraint to conducting the practice, whereas both crop and soil properties are affected by these successive operations. We established a field experiment on four relay cropping modalities where we evaluated the influence of machinery traffic date on winter crop damage rates and the effect of machinery tire passage and inflation on soil physical properties. Furthermore, we ran a statistical analysis using RStudio to test the variation of machinery-related crop damage rates, yield and soil compaction. the samples results demonstrated the accordance of hypothesis that relay cropping machinery traffic increases soil compaction never the less tire inflation doesnt have a significant influence on it moreover the later the summer-crop sowing day the higher the winter crop yield loss is. |
