Le CIHEAM consacre ce nouveau numéro de sa Watch Letter aux pays méditerranéens devant d’ores et déjà faire face aux défis du changement climatique. Nous souhaitons évoquer à la fois les différents impacts, souvent négligés, qu’ont les changements climatiques sur l’agriculture, sa production, ses débouchés et également sur les hommes et les femmes dépendants de ce secteur pour vivre. Mais nous voulons surtout que soient présentés à la fois son extraordinaire capacité d’adaptation ainsi que les solutions et les réponses innovantes et concrètes développées afin de répondre aux défis très spécifiques au bassin méditerranéen. Grâce aux précieuses contributions des experts qui ont participé à ce nouveau numéro de la Watch Letter, nous nous sommes efforcés d’y présenter une diversité de points de vue, d’expertises et de sujets afin d’offrir une lecture la plus complète possible de la Méditerranée face aux changements climatiques. Enfin, nous tenons à remercier la Fondation Crédit Agricole du Maroc pour le Développement durable, notre partenaire pour cette publication.
The CIHEAM devotes this new issue of its Watch Letter to the Mediterranean countries that are already facing these challenges of climate change. We wish to discuss different and often overlooked impacts of climate change on agriculture, its production, its markets and also the men and women whose livelihood depends on this sector. We especially wish to present both its extraordinary adaptability and also the innovative and practical solutions and responses developed to meet the very specific Mediterranean challenges. Thanks to the precious contributions of the experts that have participated to this Watch Letter issue, we strive to present a diversity of viewpoints, expertise and topics in order to provide the most complete array possible of the Mediterranean in a situation of changing climate.
