| Résumé : | Agriculture is one of the main drivers of water scarcity and water quality degradation. This study develops an agroeconomic model in two arid areas (Dalías in Spain and Azraq in Jordan), assessing how agricultural activity responds to different scenarios related to water availability and quality. Three scenarios have been considered: Steady decrease in available water, water pricing, and decrease in water quality. The results show that the model is a suitable tool for assessing the impacts of water policies. Thus, alternative water sources may be a viable option in Dalías. However, effective water pricing policies become more appropriate in Azraq. |
