| Résumé : | THIS ARTICLE presents a theoretical study of climate change, which is a pivotal challenge to global agricultural production, as it is expected to lead to sharp fluctuations in temperature and rainfall distribution, as well as an increased frequency of droughts and floods due to global warming caused by environmental pollutants. Wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) is one of most important strategic crops on which food security depends, especially in Middle East and North Africa, including Iraq. In this context, the concept of climate-smart agriculture (CSA) has emerged as an integrated approach aimed at increasing agricultural productivity. aimed at increasing agricultural productivity, enhancing the capacity of agricultural systems to adapt to climate change, and reducing carbon emissions. This study aims to Review article foundations and practical applications of climate-smart agriculture in wheat production, with a focus on water resource management, the development of varieties resistant to environmental stresses, and applications of conservation agriculture, and role of digital transformation in modern agricultural systems. The study also discusses challenges hindering the application of these technologies in developing countries and proposes practical recommendations to promote their adoption, contributing to food security and environmental sustainability. ©2026 National Information and Documentation Center (NIDOC). |
