Résumé : | The European dairy sector is moving closer towards a new structure that we can define as 'oligopolistic market with fringe', with the role of larger dairies becoming more important in determining the industrial structure. One of the principal strategies being witnessed in the industry involves increasing in size through mergers, partnerships or joint ventures. This strategy is observable in dairies of different sizes and organisational forms, with the aim of obtaining specialisation either around a product or geographical location |
