| Résumé : | This volume of Options Méditerranéennes reports on the state of soil resources of the Southern and Eastern Mediterranean Countries. It is a publication of the proceedings of the International Meeting for the Establishment of an Euro-Mediterranean Network on Soil Information, held at the Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Bari from the 4th to the 7th December 1999. The Meeting was promoted by the Soil European Bureau of the Space Application Institute - Joint Research Center - SAI-JRC of Ispra (Italy) and supported by the CIHEAM, with the purpose of assessing the existing soil information systems and the status of soil surveys, databases and methodologies in each Mediterranean country. Moreover, another major purpose of the Meeting was to activate the implementation of a Euro-Mediterranean Soil Information Network (Euro-Med SIS Network) |
