Résumé : | Water is a fundamental element for crop growth and production, apples included, and recently is under threat. Hence, The European union (EU) has founded the Water Framework directive (WFD) to ensure a clean and equitably distributed water with a sustainable goal. Albania, an EU potential candidate, is one of the countries that has abundant water resources but has uneven water distribution due to inadequate management policies. In this research, a survey was conducted on 28 apple farms in the Korça region to carry out a clustering analysis in order to assess the water allocation of apple farms towards the implementation of the WFD. This analysis revealed that there is indeed an uneven water distribution between the farms and that the use of innovation is not effective as it should be. Despite the findings obtained which can be of great help towards a better water management, this study is still bounded by some knowledge limitation. |
