Résumé : | The project's primary goal was to design, build, and test a digital irrigation indicator for the value chain of Pink Lady apples in the south of France. The project was also implemented in Spain and Italy. This irrigation indicator is to be created with the intention of alerting farmers to any abrupt changes in the climate so they may optimize their water use for orchard management. When managing their water use, they may take measures like improved watering placement in the event of scarce water supplies, early identification of water stress, and irrigation issues. This study focuses on introducing new instrumentation which is the Flora Pulse sensors and in addition to pre existing instrumentations which are the dendrometers and the soil sensors. The studys main focus is on the experiment which was conducted basically as a simple model to enhance in our comprehension of the procedures that orchard trees, specifically pink lady trees, go through as a result of climate change. The expeiment was cutting the irrigation on the stressed area and the control area was irrigated regularly. Then the results were compared between both stressed and unstressed areas. We compared the stem water potential of both stressed and unstressed, and the stem water potential mainly was an indicator of stress when it reached a value of -1700Kpa or below. The results obtained will not only prove the importance of implementing the digital irrigation device, but will help us establish the incredible correlation between the water stress and the vapor pressure deficit which is a weather index. |
