Résumé : |
This thesis aims to couple the gap between Agent Based Modelling (ABM) and Mathemathical Programming (MP) in the context of sustainable agricultural systems, with a focus on reducing the use of phytosanitary products Also, aiming to use of the strengths of both modelling approaches to provide a holistic understanding of agricultural systems and farmers' decision-making processes also strengthened the content of the thesis.
The research begins by presenting a literature review of existing literature to explore the possibilities and obstacles associated with combining Agent Based Modelling (ABM) and Mathemathical Programming (MP) in several agricultural domains. Through selected methodological considerations, the study attempts to integrate the data and approaches obtained to develop a conceptual model focused on reducing the use of phytosanitary products. The effectiveness and potential of this integrated model is analysed, highlighting environmental, economic and social factors. The results confirm that coupling ABM and MP provides an effective instrument for understanding the complexities involved in the choices of farmers and their impacts on sustainable agriculture. The dual approach provided by these models allows the optimisation of agricultural practices taking into account both the behavioural aspects of individual farmers and broader economic considerations, contributing to current initiatives such as the "TRAVERSéES" project, which aims to reduce the use of phytosanitary products. The thesis acknowledges the computational and validation challenges in combining ABM and MP, but argues for its utility in providing actionable insights especially for policy makers in the domain of sustainable agriculture. Moreover, this research not just sheds light on the complex nature of farming systems but also presents a way forward for more sustainable and economically feasible agricultural methods. Ultimately it offers insights, into reducing the usage of phytosanitary products. |
