Résumé : | North Africa is recognised as a climate change hotspot, Algeria a country in this region faces significant agricultural challenges due to rising temperatures, decreasing rainfall and soil degradation. Farm typology in Laghouat, Algeria is examined to understand the diversity of farming systems and their ability to adapt to climate change and resource limits. Through a combination of statistical analysis and participatory methods, farms are classified according to size, production systems and investment capacity. The research highlights the importance of agroecological practices in promoting the sustainability of these farms. By examining different types of farms, the study provides insights into how to better target agricultural policies to address the specific challenges faced by farms in drylands. This approach contributes to improved food security and sustainable development and highlights the need for region-specific agricultural interventions that integrate local knowledge and socio-economic diversity. |
