Résumé : | The North African region is facing enormous Agricultural challenges that threaten its agricultural production and sustainability. The effects of these challenges will not only affect agriculture, but also all the stakeholders from agricultural workers, customers and the whole system of the North African region. This could lead to serious famines and numerous disasters in the region Economically, Environmentally and socially starting from malnutrition due to loss of rich agricultural lands. These challenges are compelling us to find potential and sustainable solutions to overcome the danger they can cause. The study was carried out in Luxor region in Egypt in two of its main agricultural villages Al-Baghdadi village and Al-Zanatiqa Village. The aim is to change the traditional agroecological practices to more informative practices with the right decision to potentially elevate the value chain structure and increase the resilience and sustainability to the agricultural practice in the study region. Working on this region was extra challenges due to the demographics, drought, and extreme temperature faced in the agricultural industry. The Analysis of the value chain for agroecological market in the region was done based on data collected from various stakeholders and the different market actors such as producers, suppliers, intermediaries, processors, and consumers. The study utilized the methodology of questionnaire and interviews based with data collection process from the various market actors. The data analysis was done using DAHBSIM agroeconomic model to simulate the various scenarios that can potentially have a positive effect on the agricultural practices in the region. |
