On February 10–11, 2026, National Focal Points from MED-Amin member countries, international partners, and representatives of the Greek grain sector gathered in Thessaloniki for the 12th MED-Amin Plenary Meeting, hosted by the Hellenic Ministry of Rural Development and Food and its Station of Cereal Control and Standardization.
Beyond discussions on the current global, Mediterranean, and national market situations, the meeting focused on three key priorities:
- Deploying a Mediterranean grain market dashboard and strengthening cereal balance sheet statistics
- Improving early production forecasts, particularly by reinforcing statistical information and developing robust quantitative methodologies
- Enhancing data sharing on grain quality, trade, and regulatory frameworks
Over two days, exchanges were rich, constructive, and forward-looking. Participants shared expertise, aligned approaches, and identified concrete initiatives to improve methodologies, strengthen statistics, and advance collaboration through dedicated working groups.
The MED-Amin Secretariat extends its warmest thanks to the Hellenic Ministry of Rural Development and Food for its outstanding hosting, and to all member countries, partners, academics, and experts whose commitment and valuable contributions made this meeting particularly successful and impactful. The event also marked the handover of the MED-Amin Network Presidency to Greece, opening a new chapter for our cooperation.
Together, we move forward to strengthen transparency, knowledge, and resilience across Mediterranean grain markets.
