VIII PhD Students Meeting in Environment and Agriculture, December 11 and 12, 2023, Evora (Portugal)
The VIII PhD Students Meeting in Environment and Agriculture aimed to create a space for PhD students to meet, stimulate scientific discussion, and highlight those who will become the researchers of tomorrow. Four of the PhD students supervised by the CIHEAM Montpellier were invited to make a presentation:
- Elda Muco (Universite Paul Valery Montpellier 3, CIHEAM-IAMM): Exploring Territorial Capital through the lens of Social Capital in two rural areas in Albania - the case of Gjirokaster and Puke district

- Zenepe Dafku (Universite Paul Valery Montpellier 3, CIHEAM IAMM): Determining Factors Influencing Local Communities' Perceptions of Ecosystem Services in Divjakë-Karavasta National Park, Albania

- Aybike Bayraktar (CIHEAM-IAMM): What do local stakeholders think about novel food processing technologies? A case study in Greece and Malta

- Nour-elhouda Fatahi (University of Évora, MED & CHANGE; IAMM): Economic impact of business model change on farms: A modeling approach in Montado silvopastoral systems

- Christos Galanis (CIHEAM-IAMM): Characterization of production systems and agricultural activities in the area of the Living Lab of Luxor, Egypt

- Elie Abou Nader (CIHEAM-IAMM): Economic valuation of the apiculture value chain in France. Identification of the potential impacts and diffusion conditions of an innovation traceability system within the industrial chains and territories in the Occitany region

- Dr Hatem Belhouchette the coordinator of the research center of the CIHEAM Montpellier and a member of the UMR ABSys, gave a plenary lecture on “Reviving legume production in the MENA region… between hope and utopia”.

This event was organized by MED – Mediterranean Institute for Environment, Agriculture and Development, and IIFA – Institute for Research and Advanced Training, of the University of Évora, and has the support of the Food & Water Sub-network of UNIMED – Mediterranean Universities Union.
