The CIHEAM Montpellier is delighted to invite you to our first Café Doc of 2024 on Thursday 29 February to watch together a documentary film directed by Alain Bourbouze on The Yagour of the Imazighren, animated by Mélanie Requier-Desjardins.
“70 km south of Marrakech, at the foot of Jbel Meltsen (3600 m), lies the vast Yagour plateau, an exceptional cultural landscape shared by around forty villages. A highly subtle form of community grazing management is based on customary law and relies on the seasonal opening and closing of different collective pastures. This is the practice known as AGDAL… a small miracle of ‘endogenous’ pastoral organization that seems to have stood the test of time.”
Location: CIHEAM Montpellier, Centre de Documentation Méditerranéen, basement of Bât B
The Café Doc will start at 12:30 with coffee and sweets. You are welcome to arrive a little earlier for a chat.
